The unique design of the Mountain Boy Butterfly convertible sled/wagon is perfect for small children with double seats of hand-carved willow that feature comfortable, tilted back rests, and side rails for holding on. The deck is made of 5/8-inch thick birch planks, joined together in a durable tongue-and-groove joint. A marine-grade finish (lead-free of course) protects the wood, and all screws and bolts are construction of stainless steel for durability. The rugged steel undercarriage of the wagon is powder-coated, and the inflatable tires provide excellent shock absorption. The curved birchwood runners of the sled turn it into a sturdy but elegant pull sled.
Adult assembly required, but assembly is easy. To make it a wagon, all you have to do is tighten the 7 bolts that connect the undercarriage to the wooden top, plus the bolt that attaches the extra-long handle. To make it a sled, just attach the runners and wooden crosspieces with 6 bolts. The Butterfly meets all USC, ASTM and CE child safety standards. The finish is lead-free.
